Scholarships for Trade School Students

Were you referred by a The Refrigeration School Alumni and want to find the same success they did with training at RSI? We’re announcing the Legacy Scholarship – presenting the opportunity for graduates to refer their friends and families to enroll in any program and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to carry on their legacy.

Jumpstart your training with the Legacy Scholarship!

To be awarded the $2,000 scholarship, students must:

• be referred by a STEG (TWS/RSI) School graduate;
• be enrolled in one of our educational programs with at least 25 weeks of expected enrollment;
• enroll after November 19, 2024 with a start date in December 2024;
• be a U. S. citizen or permanent resident;
• apply for all applicable state, agency, and/or federal student aid;
• demonstrate financial need as determined by the financial aid application process;
• have completed the financial aid process and been issued an award letter;
• complete a Scholarship Request Form; and
• have no lapse in proper registration or break in attendance.

Already enrolled at RSI, but your program starts in January 2025 or later? We’re launching the Freedom Scholarship to give students the opportunity to fast-track their training by starting earlier in December, while receiving a discount towards their tuition with this scholarship. If you are able to move your start date earlier, this scholarship is for you!

To be eligible for this $2,000 scholarship, students must:

• be enrolled in a program with an expected start date beyond January 1st 2025, as of November 20, 2024, but move to an earlier start date in December 2024 to reach their education goals sooner;
• be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
• demonstrate financial need as determined by the financial aid application process;
• complete a Scholarship Request Form; and
• have no lapse in proper registration or break in attendance.

The Refrigeration School is ready to give our past students who couldn’t finish their training a second chance. Attending school is a big commitment, and we know that there are other obstacles that can stand in your way to finishing your training , so we’re launching the Second Chance Scholarship for students that dropped out of school more than a year ago.

If your life has changed in the past year, and you’re able to re-enroll in training at RSI, the Second Chance Scholarship is for you!

To be eligible for this $2,000 scholarship, students must:

• Previously attended, withdrew more than 1 year ago and reenroll to continue attending the same program with an expected start date in December 2024;
• be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
• complete a Scholarship Request Form;
• Write an essay explaining what would be different if given the chance to come back and complete the program; and
• have no lapse in proper registration or break in attendance.

2025 will be here before we know it, and this is YOUR year to take control of your life, and work towards a better career! Complete your New Year’s Resolution with the New Year, New Career Scholarship!

To be eligible for the $2,000 scholarship, students must:

• enroll in any full program greater than 25 weeks in length, after November 7th, 2024, with an expected start date in December 2024;
• be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
• apply for all applicable state, agency, and/or federal student aid;
• demonstrate financial need as determined by the financial aid application process;
• complete a Scholarship Request Form;
• provide a brief essay that summarizes what you are going to do different in starting a new career and how will it change your life for the better in 2025.
• have no lapse in proper registration or break in attendance.

You can research scholarships online or at a public library. Check with local community organizations, churches, and businesses. Many online sites can help as well. Remember: NEVER pay to apply for a scholarship. Information on scholarships is also available at RSI’s Financial Aid Department. Call us at 855-596-1499.

Deadlines vary with the scholarship. Getting an early start on your scholarship search and applications is a good idea because some deadlines can be as early as a year before school starts.

The first step is filling out the application completely and turning it in on time. Application requirements vary, so be sure to read them carefully. Our Student Financial Services representatives can help you with the forms and provide enrollment verification letters as needed.

Either is possible. You may receive a check for the full award amount, or the scholarship provider may send the money to your school to apply to tuition and fees. Check with the scholarship provider.

Yes. A scholarship is considered a form of financial aid. When all the aid you receive is added up, it cannot total more than your cost of attending RSI. Make sure to let one of our Student Financial Services representatives know if you are awarded a scholarship.
