Annual RSI National Welding Competition
Each year, RSI holds the Annual RSI National Welding Competition, looking for the best high school senior students in the country. This yearly event is a great way to showcase your welding skills and win tuition scholarships to attend The Refrigeration School, Inc. If you’re considering a future in welding this is one event you won’t want to miss!
The welding competition is open to all High School Seniors graduating in 2025.
Everyone who registers for the Weld Comp/Workshop event and participates in any of the hands on events, or welding competition, will receive a $500 scholarship toward any training program at RSI!
The top prizes will only go to first place and second place. Check out what you could win:
- First place: Full Tuition Scholarship to RSI
- Second place: Partial Tuition Scholarship to RSI

There will be interactive activities that introduces you to early concepts of HVAC, Refrigeration, and Electrical:
- Learn how fans and thermometers work together to regulate temperature.
- Experience how a home thermostat reads indoor temperature and the electrical system behind it.
- Figure out the differences between series and parallel circuits and how they are used in practical applications.
- See how temperatures and pressures change in different small refrigeration scenarios.
- Along with the welding competition, experience virtual welding with RSI’s Ocuweld.
There is a non-refundable $20 registration fee to register for the competition online, which you can pay for with a credit card.
