In 1965, The Refrigeration School (RSI) started out as a Phoenix, AZ trade school specializing in HVAC and Refrigeration career training only. Since then, we’ve expanded to include career programs for Welding and Electrical/Electrical-Mechanic technologies.
The RSI campus is located in the Phoenix metropolitan area and includes 26,000 square feet of training facilities, including classrooms, labs, support services, and shops.

Program Duration: 6 Months
A career in climate control could happen even faster with this shorter program. In just 6 months, get hands-on training in diagnosing, servicing and repairing equipment as well as mechanical and electrical principles. Plus, the RSI network of support systems helps you achieve your goals fast.

Program Duration: 7 months
The Welding Specialist program prepares a graduate for entry level positions in structural, pipe and pipeline, and thin alloy welding. Key welding processes include SMAW (stick), GMAW/FCAW (MIG/Fluxcore), and GTAW (TIG) welding procedures. Students learn welding safety, torch cutting processes, proper arc welding equipment setup, important welding control techniques, fundamental welding processes, and basic welding metallurgy. This intense program is primarily lab based and focuses on developing critical welding skills.

Welcome to The Refrigeration School. We’ve been training HVAC/R technicians for more than 50 years in the Phoenix area.
Our heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and welding curriculums, taught by our expert faculty, train students to become HVAC/R and welders in fields that have a high demand for both.
We’re very proud of our presence in the Phoenix community, and we’ve partnered with over 900 employers throughout the southwest to give our graduates a wide variety of career opportunities that will enhance their lives.
The student is the most important person on our campus. Our various departments assist students with financial aid and finding careers after graduation. We recognize the challenges students face every day and strive to deliver the best possible educational experience.
