Many employers will look for candidates who have completed a technical program in electro-maintenance, so they don’t need to train them on the job—having a well-rounded education in electricity, solar, HVAC systems, and refrigeration. The knowledge and skills you will need to master to become a successful apartment maintenance technician. Plus, this program can be completed in as little as nine months.

Step #3: Obtain Certifications and Licensing

There are some duties that an apartment maintenance technician will complete that require certification and a license. These duties include:

EPA Section 608 Certification(1) – is a certification for handling hazardous refrigerants when working with air conditioners and refrigerators. The good news is that RSI will prepare you for the exam for the 608 certification, so that you will be ready.

HVAC Excellence and NATE(2) – after the Electro Mechanical Technologies Program, you will be ready to take the NATE exam to prove your proficiency in your HVACR systems knowledge.
