About HVAC Training
Air conditioning training deals with heating and cooling for individual comfort. It is used in hospitals, skyscrapers, shopping centers, restaurants, homes � everywhere! There are many diverse types of machines used to do the job of “conditioning the air,” and whether it’s a gas furnace, a chilled water system, or a heat pump, the equipment needs to be serviced by a trained technician.
Refrigeration training is similar to air conditioning training, but as air conditioning is heating and cooling for people, while refrigeration is used to make goods cold. Most of us think of this as our home refrigerator, a grocery store meat counter, or a soda machine. However, refrigeration is used in every step of food processing, in medicine production and storage, and of course, it is critical to the National Hockey League. In fact, it has been estimated by the US Department of Labor that 90% of all the process industries must use controlled temperature and humidity in their everyday functions!

RSI was started in 1965 as a small family-run HVAC training school and has grown to a multi building campus with 21,000 square feet of classroom, lab, and support service facilities. At RSI, students receive hands-on refrigeration training, air conditioning training, and heating training. Also, RSI has an articulation agreement with the University of Phoenix to accept credits from the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering program for those that would like to further their education. At RSI you’ll find faculty and staff who care, from helping seek financial aid, helping students reach their goals, and to placement assistance for graduates.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. has become known internationally as a training center devoted to providing affordable, high quality vocational training. This is accomplished through a combination of lecture and shop classes with a major importance on “hands-on” training. The mix of lecture to hands-on varies from class to class as a student progresses
