A common misconception is that air conditioning only involves keeping people cool in the summer. It actually means controlling the entire climate, whether that involves heating, cooling, humidity or air filtration. Heating and cooling solutions and air conditioners are found everywhere from residential homes to the biggest skyscrapers where the infrastructure is much more complicated.
The heating and cooling classes offered by the Refrigeration School teach what you need to know about the dynamics of air flow. There is and will probably always be a demand for heating and cooling technicians that know how to make air conditioning more energy efficient.
According to Energy Star, the US Government is offering large tax credits to business and homeowners alike if they have the most efficient means of heating and cooling their properties. Because of this, technicians who can maintain a system are always going to be needed. Additionally, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are actively helping to preserve our environment by finding better and more energy efficient heating and cooling solutions.
There are multiple HVAC programs offered by the Refrigeration School which also provides the training equipment needed to make sure that the hands on part of the heating and cooling classes are as much about application as they are theory.

Students get to learn about industrial and residential air conditioning units and experiment with different ways to diagnose problems and find out how to affect the best heating and cooling results. A training system called E-STAR lets the instructor pre-program an air conditioning unit to fail electrically and students must find out what the problem is and fix it. Much of what goes wrong is electrical and with this training equipment, trial and error teaches students quickly how to get the best results out of the air conditioning unit.
